President and CEO Dr. William C. Bell to receive CUNY Graduate Center award

Casey Family Programs President and CEO Dr. William C. Bell will be honored by his alma mater, City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center, with its President’s Distinguished Alumni Medal. This honor was instituted by CUNY to recognize outstanding graduates for their individual accomplishments and embodiment of the university’s values and mission. Dr. Bell is set to receive the award June 7, 2024, at City University of New York’s 58th Commencement Exercises.

Dr. Bell earned a Ph.D. in social welfare from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2010.

“As you may remember the Graduate Center’s motto is ‘knowledge in service of the public good,’” wrote Joshua Brumberg, interim president of the CUNY Graduate Center, in a notification about the award. “It is clear that your life’s work speaks to this motto. Your important efforts with vulnerable children and families does honor to your alma mater and is an inspiration to our community.”

Dr. Bell has served as Casey’s President and CEO since 2006 and has more than 40 years of experience in the human services field.
